The Perfect Spring Sipper: Casteñada Rosé
Just in time for Spring ... this week we bottled the 2014 vintage of the stunning Casteñada Rosé. Like our Casteñada Red Wine, this wine is available exclusively at our Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe in downtown Sonoma.
Fresh from the Cellar. One down ... 719 to go.
This exquisite Rosé is crafted from a single block in our Durell Vineyard - where a field blend of Rhône varietals includes Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc and Grenache Noir. The block is harvested together, then co-fermented in the cellar. To craft the Rosé , we use the French saignée method to "bleed off" some of the juice. Just 60 cases of the Rosé were made - the remainder of the fermenting wine is destined for the 2014 Casteñada Red Wine.

Guests at our Spring Release Party on February 28th had the chance to preview the 2014 Casteñada Rosé from a stainless steel tank. The newly bottled wine will officially be released later this month and is available exclusively at the Adobe.
2014 Casteñada Rosé
Our amazing brand ambassdor, Hayden Schmidter, says this of the wine: "Rose is a sign of Spring ... a promise of warm weather. Spring came early to Sonoma and we are thrilled to have the first vintage of Casteñada Rosé to share with our guests in the garden."
