Russian River Valley

Russian River Valley

This meandering AVA is sculpted by the path of the thick, cooling fog that flows up the Russian River and through the Petaluma Gap daily. The fog ebbs and flows nearly every day – often lowering the temperature by up to 40 degrees from the daytime high, then retreating back to the ocean by mid-morning. Particularly perfect for Pinot Noir, this natural air-conditioning allows the fruit to ripen at a snail’s pace, developing full flavor maturity over a long (long!) growing season while retaining bright natural acidity. The combination of its prized Goldridge sandy-loam soils and climate create quintessential Russian River Valley Pinot Noir terroir.
