2013 Durell Vineyard Chardonnay

Durell Vineyard Chardonnay

Just 713 Cases Produced
The 2013 growing season was close to perfection - so we are especially pleased to share this extraordinary vintage from one of California's most prized Chardonnay vineyards. Fruit for this bottling comes from two of our favorite blocks: "Old Wente 1" - the northernmost Chardonnay block on the site, and one of the oldest, coldest and windiest. This block gives classic flavor, richness and deep texture. The remainder of the blend is from the "Rocky Flat" block, planted to Dijon clone 76. This rocky block radiates warmth to the fruit, resulting in lush, ripe flavors and distinctive minerality.

TASTING NOTES: Singing with notes of ginger, citrus rind and roasted almonds, our signature Chardonnay is back with plush body and bright acidity. Flavors of sandalwood, grilled orange and fresh baked bread expand on the palate. Citrus and minerality come together to bring a creamy, complex finish to this perfectly balanced wine.

2013 Durell Vineyard Pinot Noir

Durell Vineyard Pinot Noir

Just 585 Cases Produced
Pinot Noir was spectacular in 2013 - and this bottling captures the gorgeous nuance and complexity of the vintage. This bottling brings together three Durell Blocks: "The Extension" - a primarily east-facing hillside block, planted to Dijon clone 777, contributing structure, texture and dark fruit. "The Terraces" is planted to Dijon clone 115, at the northern tip of Durell. This block's slightly terraced rows have heavier soil, rocky and shallow. This block brings raciness to the blend. Finally, "Block R" is on the western side of Durell, planted to Dijon clone 667. Small, controlled vines produce fruit of the same nature - providing strength and structure.

TASTING NOTES: Leading with Durell's signature tea leaf and savory mushroom aromatics, this wine captures your attention right away. Opening the palate with fresh blackberry, hints of soft leather shows true characteristics of this vineyard. With intricate layers of dark cherry and earth, this wine embodies our home's unique terroir from start to finish.

2013 Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir

Gap's Crown Pinot Noir

Just 329 Cases Produced
The second vintage from our Gap's Crown estate Vineyard is simply fabulous - showing the uniqueness and strength of this exquisite vineyard. At the peak of the Petaluma Gap, Pinot Noir basks in the sun, while enjoying the cooling effects of both wine and fog. 2013 gave us luscious, balanced wines with excellent cellar potential.

TASTING NOTES: This coastal Pinot does a tremendous job of balancing spice and fruit. The nose hints at is cooler origin, while on the palate fresh raspberry and a hint of salted caramel preside. The wine is inviting and bright. Flavors of homemade cranberry sauce and cherry pie round out the finish.

2012 Moon Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Just 385 Cases Produced
This beautiful Cabernet layers together three Moon Mountain vineyards. At 1700', Bald Mountain is dry farmed, relying on annual rainfall, deep roots and the water holding capacity of the soil. Bismark Ranch ranges from 1800' to 2200'. Fruit here is lively and grippy. Mountain Terraces ranges from 1200' to 1750' and makes up the core of this blend. The block is on a steeply terraced slope.

TASTING NOTES: Rich and aromatic, this sleek Cabernet shows tiers of blue fruit, berries and dusty deep rose. Upon entry, juicy dark cherry and sweet oaky spice predominate. Round tannins and a plush structure elevate the lengthy finish on this rich mountain Cabernet.

2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

NV-cab

Just 306Cases Produced
Fruit for our inaugural bottling of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauivgnon comes from two AVAs: Rutherford and Atlas Peak. Ithaca Vineyard in Rutherford is in the heart of the "bench." The block we picked is clone 169, planted on well-drained gravelly loamy soils with great benchland exposure. The Elkington Setty Ranch on the eastern shoulder of Atlas Peak has an elevation ranging from 1600' to 1700'. 35-40 year old vines are planted in rocky, well-drained volcanic soils.

TASTING NOTES: Aromatic scents of ripe dark fruits reveal touches of chocolate and cedar. This lush Cabernet has a rich core of blackberry and fresh currants. The palate is heightened by good density and persistent fruit. Finishing with melded tannins and subtle oak, this wine is balanced, big and elegant.
