Casteñada RosèThe Casteñada
CollectionOur commitment to stewardship of the land and people is reflected in our historical home, the Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe. The Adobe was initially built in 1842 by Salvador Vallejo, brother to General Mariano Vallejo, and has been lovingly restored as a Sonoma Landmark with the help of San Franciso designer Ken Fulk.
Our Casteñada Collection wines are delicious, field-blended Rhône varietals made to honor the long history of winemaking and growing in Sonoma Valley. Described as a party in a bottle, these wines are full of energy and life while harkening back to another era.

A Seasonal Rosé Bite
Enjoy our Casteñada Rosé with this seasonal bite recipe in partnership with Brookes Tables, Chef Brooke. "This recipe was inspired by the opening of the Silverado Strawberry stand in Napa, which opens every year around this time after being closed for winter. Great recipe for entertaining."

There are so many reasons we love this wine – from its origin story to its unique packaging to its fun and flirty “sunshine-in-a-glass” vibe – but one of the most important reasons to love this wine is what happens in the cellar. We take an immense amount of care, time, focus, and energy to make the fruit from our estate vineyards to be the best wine it can be; our rosé is no different.
Our talented winemaking team takes our Casteñada Red Blend and uses the Saignée method, a technique that, when translated from French, means “to bleed.” While this approach is most often used in red wine to heighten concentration, we use it to enhance our rosé. While bright and tantalizing on the palate, this method gives our rose a wonderful mouth feel and roundness- making it a fan favorite amongst our supporters.
