5 Somms Say Yes to this Wine!

We’re excited to share that one of our wines was reviewed by the 5 Somms, a new panel of certified sommeliers from across the country representing Gen Z and Millennial perspectives. Their mission is to make wine selection more approachable through a simplified and straightforward evaluation process, highlighting only the bottles they genuinely recommend. Wines featured by the 5 Somms must earn five “yes” recommendations from the entire panel, and we’re estatic that our 2023 Price Family Estates Pinot Noir was reviewed!

Somms Say This About The Taste:
CN: This wine has a level of sophistication that would intrigue buyers because it is a “good” bottle of Pinot Noir. High quality and prestige production. JB: Classic Sonoma flavor profile with approachable depth.
JK: This wine tastes GREAT. This is exactly what a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir should taste like, and I love it. $65 is a lot, but for Sonoma Coast Pinot, it makes sense. Wonderful raspberry aromatics in both a simultaneous ripe and tart condition, along with a plethora of secondary components like cedar, and a delicious acidity.
JP: Extremely ripe and bordering on jammy fruit. Cherries, plums, rhubarb, black tea, baked clay, vanilla. A fuller bodied style of Pinot Noir that leads with its fruit profile.
DD: This wine is refreshing and shows a great regional typicity. These are the flavors you expect in a well-made Pinot Noir from Sonoma. Light cherries and blue fruit in the glass; every sip refreshing.

Somms Say This About Where/When to Enjoy This Wine:
CN: Special occasion; nice gift.
JB: Grilling out with the crew or with a nice burger.
JK: Plenty of great situations for this wine. If the budget allows it, it can be enjoyed on any given Tuesday with pizza, but is much better suited for a nice evening with great company and perfectly paired food. JP: Enjoy this with a nice dinner with your significant other and finish with a movie.
DD: This wine should be paired with a nice dinner, either at a restaurant or at home. This wine should be shared with other people.

Special Serving Suggestions:
JB:Reduce down in BBQ sauce for a Pinot infused ribs. Yum!
JP: This wine would be best enjoyed at a family gathering enjoyed with chicken piccata and lemon risotto.

Why This Wine Creates A Memorable Experience:
CN: Small production and priced to suggest quality. This wine is an experience in itself. JB: Don’t let the price scare you. This wine still punches above its weight class. JK: This wine is exceptional for creating a great experience because it is a great wine – it’s that simple! Truly though, this wine hits all the points needed to be among the great Sonoma Coast Pinots and even verges into high level Burgundy status. Enjoy it with friends who also have a budding interest in wine, and you’re in for a great evening!
JP: This wine delivers great experiences. It is decidedly a certain style of Pinot Noir but for those who enjoy this riper, and more fruit driven style will have a great time with this wine. Although it is very full bodied it drinks refreshing and bright still holding on to what the Sonoma Coast AVA is all about.
DD: This wine is going to create a great experience as long as it is shared. This wine is extremely well made and complex. I think due to its complexity and enjoyability, it will be hard not to talk about the wine with other people.
